Oliver Eckelmann, CEO

Oliver is a co-founder of the discoveric bio group and serves as the CEO.

Before commencing in the field of Biotech entrepreneurship, he joined the Pharmaceutical company Roche in the beginning of 2006 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in controlling and planning. In 2009 he was appointed as Roche’s VP/Global Head of Strategy, Planning and Special Projects in Basel, Switzerland. In September 2012 he took over the role as CFO and Deputy CEO for Roche in Australia.

At the beginning of his career, he has held positions with consultancy firms Booz & company and Roland Berger Strategy Consultants.

Oliver holds a PhD in economics.

Jean Philippe Courade, CSO discoveric bio alpha and discoveric bio gamma

Jean-Philippe is a Neuroscientist development specialist and serves as CSO to discoveric bio alpha and discoveric bio gamma.

Before joining discoveric bio, he led the tau antibody research project in UCB and is one of the inventor of UCB0107 / Bepranemab which is now in clinical development for Alzheimer’s Disease and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

Earlier in his career he was a Neuroscientist and led projects in the chronic pain field in Novartis and Pfizer. Jean-Philippe studied in University Pierre and Marie Curie (Paris 6) and is a neuropharmacologist by training and holds a PhD from University of Auvergne-financed by UPSA/BMS.

Philipp Knechtle, CSO, discoveric bio beta

Philipp is an antimicrobial development specialist and serves as CSO to discoveric bio beta.

In his previous career he held different positions in anti-infective biotech companies, including Evlova SA, Polyphor Ltd., Selmod GmbH, and Allecra Therapeutics SAS. In these positions Philipp lead projects from early stage discovery to late stage clinical development, covering screening, hit-to-lead, pre-clinical and clinical microbiology and PK-PD.

Philipp is a microbiologist by training and holds a PhD from the Biozentrum, University of Basel, and a PostDoc from the Institut Pasteur, Paris.
